Frittelli arte contemporanea opens the new exhibition season with a solo show by Vasco Bendini, LuceLenta [SlowLight]. The exhibition project is curated by Tommaso Trini, who has selected the artist's recent production focusing on one of the fundamental stylistic traits of his painting, light, through an interpretation involving the relationship between visual arts and science.

Thus, after the vast anthological exhibition dedicated to the artist, curated by Maurizio Calvesi, the spaces of Frittelli arte contemporanea once again host the works of a recognized protagonist of contemporary Italian art.

The exhibition moves within the dual polarity of deep, dramatic blacks, agitated by lights charged with mystery, and luminous whites, sudden but never blinding. Bendini's recent artworks depict mental spaces, places of the imagination, but also memories of nature captured in its embryonic state. The theme of memory characterizes many of the titles of the artworks of recent years, consisting of dates that emphasize the almost diary-like value assumed by his latest cycles, an existential diary that eschews any sort of anecdote. The figures that emerge from his pictures are uniquely mindful of the material that produced them and that makes them not only similar to dreams, but also to living, biological reality in the making. At the same time, his paintings touch the strings of sensitivity, the profoundly human sphere of feeling, calling up memories of the everyday in the viewer's mind. 
The latest paintings, like all Bendini's work, are abstract without being unreal, they are devoid of recognizable content, yet not empty of meaning. This painting, born of sensitivity, memory and mystery, is defined by Trini himself as a “spectral” painting, aimed first and foremost at investigating the nature of the light spectrum, in an experimental and unpredictable form, always in search of images that bear an autonomous light. In this same process, Bendini seeks and achieves a profound contact with the viewer, a symbolic transfer, which is not communication but, on the contrary, a profound form of human expression.
