We are delighted to host the concert The Wandering One by the Eddie Prévost and Silvan Schmid Duo on Wednesday 29 April 2026 at 9 pm, organised by Tempo Reale as part of its February–April 2026 programme entitled Suoni e musica di ricerca a Firenze [Exploratory sounds and music in Florence].
An intergenerational encounter bringing to Florence for the first time Eddie Prévost, founder of the historic British free improvisation group AMM and a central figure in the British and international improvisation scene, and Silvan Schmid, a young Swiss trumpeter who lives between Switzerland and Belgium.
Their project The Wandering One, which finds its full expression as a trio with double bassist Tom Wheatley, presents a fluid and elusive form of jazz, built upon a continuous exploration of rhythm: its distortions, its shifts, its vanishing points. The eponymous album — recorded at All Saints Church in High Laver and released by Matchless Recordings in May 2024 — has taken them on tour across Europe.
