MIART 2025

miart2025
3 - 6 April 2025

On the occasion of MIART 2025 Frittelli arte contemporanea proposes an exhibition project inspired by the concept and history of the exhibition Materialization of Language, curated in 1978 by Mirella Bentivoglio at the Magazzini del Sale during the Venice Biennale. This exhibition, which featured 90 international female artists and poets, became a milestone in the study of the links between art, language and feminist practices. In recent years, the seminal value of Materialization of Language has been celebrated and renewed through major exhibitions such as Il soggetto imprevisto curated by Raffaella Perna and Marco Scotini at the Frigoriferi Milanesi (2019), the Biennale Arte 2022 - Il latte dei sogni curated by Cecilia Alemani, and Re-Materialization of Language curated by Cristiana Perrella and Andrea Viliani at the Fondazione Dalle Nogare in Bolzano (2022).

The exhibition project is developed in continuity with one of the gallery's main lines of research, which has been exploring the relationship between artistic practices and feminist thought for years, through a selection of historical works by some of the artists who participated in the Bentivoglio exhibition and other female artists, highlighting their contribution to the evolution of artistic language as an authentic and unconditioned mode of communication.

Artists in the exhibition: Mirella Bentivoglio, Tomaso Binga, Dadamaino, Ketty La Rocca, Lucia Marcucci, Libera Mazzoleni, Paola Mattioli, Stephanie Oursler.
