On the occasion of the Jubilee of Artists and the World of Culture (Rome, 15-18 February 2025), which is inspired by Pope Francis' recognition of the ability of the arts and culture to "dreaming up new versions of the world, introducing novelty into history and bringing into the world something so never seen before", we were happy to collaborate with the Dicastery for Culture and Education in the realisation of the exhibition curated by Raffaella Perna entitled Global Visual Poetry, "conceived - as the curator herself explains - to highlight the transnational character of Visual Poetry, one of the most incisive artistic currents of the second half of the 20th century, which has been able to take up the legacy of the early avant-garde to open up to dialogue between different cultures and countries from the very beginning. Overcoming geographical and identity barriers, Visual Poetry has promoted an inclusive and socially engaged art.
With more than two hundred works, the exhibition offers a transversal look at the research of exponents linked to the various verbal-visual experiments that have emerged, on a global scale, since the Second World War: from Concrete Poetry to Visual Poetry, from Objective Poetry to New Writing. The exhibition aims to highlight the affinity and poetic coherence of artists active in this current, who share a utopian vision and a feeling of hope.
