On Saturday, April 5, at 8 p.m., at the Frittelli arte contemporanea & Galleria Michela Rizzo's space in Milan, there will be a presentation of the catalogue Re-Materialization of Language. 1978-2022 of the exhibition of the same name created by Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare, which retraces and reinterprets the historic exhibition Materializzazione del linguaggio curated by Mirella Bentivoglio for the 1978 Venice Biennale.
The presentation is produced by Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare in collaboration with Frittelli arte contemporanea and Galleria Michela Rizzo and with Nero Editions.
The book represents the first attempt at philological reconstruction of the exhibition curated by Mirella Bentivoglio, which marked a turning point in the visibility of the verbo-visual practices of eighty international women artists. In addition to documenting the 2022 exhibition at the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation, the volume includes critical and visual contributions by curators, artists, and designers, exploring the relationship between word, image, body, and archive in contemporary artistic research.
The event will be introduced by the curators and authors of the publication, Cristana Perrella and Andrea Viliani, and will be accompanied by an unreleased performance by Gaia Ginevra Giorgi, an artist and researcher who works between writing, sound and performance practices. Her feminist and ecological research focuses on the affective and political reworking of archives, giving rise to new narratives and temporalities.
The catalogue has been presented internationally and will be available for purchase at the event.
Free admission, with a small buffet to follow.
