Artissima 2025

artissima2025
30 October - 2 November 2025

On the occasion of Artissima 2025, Frittelli arte contemporanea is proposing an exhibition project whose main theme is the environment and the ecological matter seen through the gaze - deep, sharp and ironic - of feminist artists, who made their contribution and left their mark on art and society especially in the 1970s and have continued to be the rudder of collective reflection with their works ever since.

The voices of these women artists thus become part of the debate on the social effects produced by mass culture at the time of the economic boom, opening up a critical stance towards consumerism and the drifts of capitalism. Attention to the environment and the ecological issue are inserted in a controversial context, within which they are linked to other fundamental themes such as pacifist convictions, criticism of colonialism and the hegemony of the West, the economic and social imbalances linked to the economic miracle, and denunciation of the marginal condition of women
The latter, which also translates into violence against women is the result of that patriarchal matrix, that brutality that is declined as devastation of nature and the environment, misappropriation of resources resulting in the immiseration of the places of life that forces thousands of people to leave their countries in an attempt to escape poverty and wars.
A complexity that is often instead resolved in an art made of simple, everyday, “poor” means, with works that are often small in format, easy to disseminate and capable, also by virtue of this, of transcending the elitist channels of art and of subtracting language from the wear and tear of habit in order to revitalize it.

Artists in the exhibition: Mirella Bentivoglio, Tomaso Binga, Ketty La Rocca, Maria Lai, Lucia Marcucci, Paola Mattioli, Libera Mazzoleni, Stephanie Oursler.
