On Friday, June 13, 2025, the exhibition Arte e Fotografia. Zero effetti collaterali [Art and Photography. Zero side effects], curated by Denis Curti in collaboration with Alessio Fusi, at CIFA - Centro Italiano della Fotografia d'Autore in Bibbiena (AR), which takes place as part of the second edition of the Festival della Fotografia Italiana [Festival of Italian Photography].
The theme of the Festival is the relationship between art and photography, and the aim of the exhibition is to bring out how an instrument as ambiguous as the camera has been transformed from a device subservient to technique to a medium adept at stimulating important social and cultural reflections. Contributing not only to renew traditional stylistic currents, but also to raise questions inherent in representation, authenticity and the role of the author within social boundaries.
All the men and women authors involved in this journey through images, each with their own narrative method and their own view of the world, are emblematic of an incisive gesturality capable of mending the rift that has been created over the centuries between mechanical imagination (photographic tool) and artistic intangibility.
Gianni Bertini and Alighiero Boetti are also on display.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog produced by FIAF - Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche and will be open until September 21, 2025.
