Gilda Lavia Gallery (Rome) is pleased to present AAM! Voracità della parola group show of the artists: Giulio Alvigini, Matteo Attruia and Lucia Marcucci, curated by Elena Forin, that will open on February 13 at 6 pm.
 The exhibition project investigates the profound connection between word, thought, and reality, exploring three different ways of understanding and interpreting the message, its functions, and its visual roots. The choice to bring together three figures such as Lucia Marcucci, Matteo Attruia, and Giulio Alvigini corresponds to the desire to bring together three voices and three languages, measuring how each has brought out some crucial characteristics of their present and some of its critical issues. The profound diversity of age, context, and research is intentional and, far from wanting to create a generational trajectory, denotes a precise choice: to restore three temperatures, three readings, three modes of intervention, and three universes united, however, by commitment and irony with the aim of stimulating in the spectator the ability, pleasure, and fun in interpreting the word.
 The exhibition opens with a new series of works by Lucia Marcucci, created on the pages of Il Vernacoliere, a monthly humorous magazine in the Livorno dialect. Using dialect and satire, the artist offers a biting critique of the media, amplifying the impact of news and comments. Her works play with language, mixing journalistic language, advertising slogans, and comic book language, creating an exaggerated yet spontaneous and theatrical synthesis. Alongside this core is a crucial node in the artist's research, which addresses the value and meaning of poetry, treated through the witty and provocative juxtaposition of words and advertising images.
 Matteo Attruia, instead, takes us to the heart of the commonly used term "Welcome," analyzing its meaning beyond linguistic boundaries. By illuminating only the letters "WE" and "ME," the artist underscores the importance of the interaction between the individual and the collective in the act of welcoming. Through subtraction, he reveals new meanings, as in the work inspired by the writer Céline, where the isolation of the first and last sentence of the novel invites reflection on memory, imagination, and time. The spaces between the individual and collective perspective, between history and heritage, and between desire and hope, are explored through two other works: in Un popolo, the erosion of time that has deprived the Palace of Italian Civilization at EUR of its original meaning corresponds to the stripping of the words on the façade, while in There is a light, created specifically for the exhibition, Attruia restores the responsibility and sense of desire through the mechanism of participation and the symbolic value of light.
 In this exhibition, Giulio Alvigini departs from his usual style, creating a meditative environment designed to accompany and question certain aspects of the world of faith and art. Stimulated by the confrontation with the city, he sets up the "Alvigini Chapel," a separate space where one can gather to carry out a sacred analysis of language, image, icons, and their contamination with the market. Alvigini, with his characteristic irony, explores the connections between seemingly distant concepts, such as love and suffering or beatification and sacrifice, emphasizing the importance of text as a tool for unity and reflection. Created specifically for the exhibition, all the works draw attention to the devotional value of contemporary art and its figures, and to the ritual that binds objects, words, works, and omissions.
