Frittelli arte contemporanea is pleased to announce the exhibition Lamberto Pignotti. È la poesia una maga…, curated by Raffaella Perna, dedicated to Lamberto Pignotti (Florence, 1926), a key figure in Italian Visual Poetry and one of the founders of Gruppo 70, a movement established in Florence in 1963, which is now the focus of renewed and growing critical and institutional interest. 

The exhibition opens to mark the artist and poet’s centenary, in an event intended to be both a celebration and a critical reflection on how Visual Poetry has played the role of “providing an artistic connection – as Pignotti himself puts it – to what truly surrounds us, concerns us, enters us, but mostly in a chaotic and uncritical way’ and on the transnational nature of this movement, which has effectively transcended geographical and identity-based boundaries, opening a global dialogue between distant cultures.
